It can take time to discover the right career path. And for many, this involves a little trial and error along the way. To make the process easier, Our Lady’s is delighted to be hosting a drop-in session with a different ‘Career Ambassador’ each month. The sessions will take place in Mrs Riaz’s room (F05).
The next session will take place on Friday 5 May, 1.30pm-2pm.
Students are invited to come and meet School Nurse Sammy Jo-Saddler, to hear about her job and ask any questions they may have about embarking on a career in the health industry.
Hello, my name is Sammy-Jo Sadler and I’m a school health nurse. The purpose of my role is to deliver the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) to 5-19 year olds. The HCP sets out the recommended framework of universal and progressive services for children and young people to promote optimal health and wellbeing.
I have currently been in my role as school health nurse for just over a year. Prior to joining community services I worked as a Neonatal nurse on a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Neonatal nursing is a subspecialty of nursing that works with new-born infants born with a variety of problems ranging from prematurity, birth defects, infection, cardiac malformations, and surgical problems.
