Year 7s at NBA Finals in Leicester Today

Year 7s Blazing a Trail Through Junior NBA

In September, Mr Jones entered the Year 7 boys into this season’s Greater Manchester Schools Junior NBA. Our Lady’s were designated as the Portland Trailblazers and entered into the Western Conference – Northwest Division. After losing their first game by only two points, they never looked back winning all the remaining games and finishing top of the league to progress into the ‘Play-offs’ as Division Champions!

We’re so proud of our Year 7 Basketball Team who have done superbly well in qualifying for the National NBA Basketball Finals. Basketball England is bringing together the Junior NBA, Academy Leagues and Dynamik National Schools’ finals under one roof for the very first time at the Leicester Community Sports Arena this week and our team - The Portland Trailblazers - is competing against Cheadle Hulme High School's Phoenix Suns on Court 3 at 11.30am today.

Charlie Ford, Basketball England’s Education and Satellite Clubs Manager, commented: “The three events will see over 1,500 young players from the around the country enjoy the experience of being part of what I am know will be a fantastic week of basketball. Working alongside our partners from the NBA, Association of Colleges Sport (AoC Sport) and Dynamik Sports Flooring, we have been able to put together an event schedule that will excite and inspire all in attendance to form a basketball habit for life.”
