So, the summer holidays are fast becoming a distant (hopefully wonderful) memory. A new academic year always feels like a fresh beginning, a blank canvas stretching forward to another calendar year and beyond offering endless possibilities.
And what better way to start the new term at Our Lady’s than riding high on our exceptional GCSE success. Yet again, our year 11s excelled themselves, with every student gaining a qualification and many obtaining the new 9 grade. It was fantastic to see all their hard work rewarded on results day on 24 August. You can read more about their achievements in the Middleton Guardian.
Our new year 7s are already settling in well to the high school setting and it’s lovely to welcome lots of siblings and cousins of our students to the Our Lady’s family. There are so many exciting things in store for them including our annual trip to Langdale in October that provides the ideal opportunity to bond with new classmates in a beautiful outdoor Lake District environment away from school.
It is always exhilarating to see our students move up a year group, watching them develop and work hard to achieve their potential. Starting the new school year feeling positive and motivated is important so we work hard to instil strong organisation and an eagerness to learn from day one so that the whole school returns with a collective enthusiasm for the year ahead. Together we can achieve great things.
