All pupils need an igo pass to allow them to travel on buses at a child rate. Information about how to apply for an igo pass can be found on the Transport for Greater Manchester website or by clicking here.
The dedicated Yellow School Bus is a service whereby your child’s seat is prebooked. The advantages are that there is the same driver every day, have a strict code of behaviour and only collect school pupils. Your child’s place needs to be booked and paid for in advance of the school year starting.
The Yellow School Bus only has one route which is detailed in the map below.
You can access the information on the Yellow Bus including route information and ticket costs and book your child’s place by clicking here.
Please note that places are limited and seats are reserved for individual students, rather than allowing anyone to get on the bus. The number of seats is determined by the bus company and routes are based upon the catchment profile of students’ addresses. Regrettably, once seats are allocated, students will have to use public transport. More information is available at https://www.tfgm.com/tickets-and-passes/bus-yellow-school-buses
There are two special school buses that run to and from the school. These are:
Stagecoach service 717 – Strangeways, Hightown, Cheetham Hill
Stagecoach service 718 – Moston Vale, Moston, White Moss
A full schedule of the stops and times of these buses is below.
You do not need to reserve a seat for your child on these services. They can pay the driver daily, or buy a weekly or monthly ticket which may be cheaper. Your child will need their igo pass to travel at the child rate.
There are also public bus services which run close by but not directly to the school which may be more appropriate for your child dependant on where you are travelling to. This includes:
Go-Ahead service 41 – Manchester, Cheetham Hill, Crumpsall, Alkrington, Middleton
Stagecoach service 56 – Manchester, Collyhurst, Lower Crumpsall
Stagecoach service 156 – Manchester, Collyhurst, Lower Crumpsall, Heaton Park, Rhodes, Middleton
Please note, these are public bus services and do not come to the school, your child will have to make their own way to and from the public bus stop.
More information on these routes is available from the Transport for Greater Manchester website.
