Step into Christmas at Our Lady’s

It's Chriiiiisstmassss!

Well, that first school term flew by! What a rewarding and productive 12 weeks.

With the doors to Our Lady’s closing for the Christmas holiday tomorrow, it’s safe to say everyone deserves a relaxing break. It’s been looking a lot like Christmas here for the past few weeks so we’re all finishing the term on a festive high.

Our Primary School Christmas card competition was a success again this year –congratulations to our winner Rhianna Cerys Lock from St Clare’s Primary – your creative nativity scene has been printed and we are pleased to have sent it out as our school Christmas card this year. Well done to all our finalists and everyone who entered – with such high standards you certainly didn’t make the job easy for our judges!

Christmas is a time for giving and sharing. We’ve delivered Christmas hampers to the Lalley Centre and groceries to the residents of Harry Pigott Court and also shown our support to Key 103’s Mission Christmas Appeal to ensure underprivileged children across Manchester will wake up on Christmas morning to the magic of a gift from Santa. It’s an important reminder that Christmas can be a real struggle for some people, so we hope we’ve helped lessen the burden.

We were very proud of our students at the School Christmas Carol Concert last week as they thoroughly entertained our guests showcasing a diverse musical selection highlighting the incredible talent we have here.

Staff and students have been spreading the festive joy in school too with a delicious Christmas dinner cooked by the very talented Mary Chadwick and her wonderful team. Dinner coincided with Christmas Jumper Day so everyone looked the part. A special shout out has to go to Mr Breen who went above and beyond to support this event. Well done Mr Breen – Santa’s been in touch to say he needs his elf back on duty!

We would like to wish all staff, students, parents and carers a wonderful and peaceful Christmas holiday.
See you in 2017!
