Fantastic Traineeship Opportunity (GMMH)

Opportunity for School Leavers

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) has an opportunity for a Traineeship (16-19) in partnership with Qube Learning who will be delivering Employability Skills with elements of Health &Social Care.

• 12 Week unpaid programme, travel is support by Qube
• Admin/Reception Role full time into a L2 customer service Apprenticeship (15months) if successful on the Traineeship (Annex 21 Apprenticeship rate – which is higher than the National Apprenticeship rate)
• On successful completion of the Apprenticeship this will be a substantive NHS Band 2 Admin post – Band 2 starting salary is £17, 652
• Based at Park House, North Manchester Hospital

Eligibility for programme:

• Working towards L1 Maths & English
• Cannot be qualified above a L2 (GCSE level)
• Right to work in UK

The Role (Basics):

• Part of the admin team on reception at Park House
• Greeting Service Users
• Booking appointments
• Taking phone calls and directing accordingly
• General Admin duties (filing, emailing, updating the CRM system)
• Keeping calm and communicating effectively

Things to consider:

• Dealing with quite poorly individuals who can present as aggressive and abusive due to their illness/situation, this role will need someone with resilience, patient and understanding
• Some of the scenarios they could be dealing with could be quite distressing, they have had people present with bad self- harming (so appeared to staff quite distressing with a fair amount of blood, they are behind a glass screen)
• They may need to deal with people in quite an erratic/abusive state due to illness
• They may also answer distressing calls with very emotional individuals (the have had to take calls from people threatening to take their own lives)

Qualities Required:

• Ability to communicate effectively on all levels
• Confident in answering and talking on the phone
• Good basic PC Skills (word, outlook, email, internet), use of bespoke packages (full training given)
• Caring and empathic nature
• Resilient
