As Christmas vastly approaches the second half term is nearly over. We would like to hope that everyone had a safe and pleasant break after the first half term back from the summer holidays.
Over the last few weeks, here at Our Lady’s lots has been going on such as;
Our celebration of Remembrance Day where two minutes silence took place for all who served for our country. Throughout that week assemblies were also a lead for all years to show and explain the true meaning of Remembrance Day and wear a poppy. Many students were also involved in competitions in that topic with the history department.
The new year 7 chaplains have also led an RE Morning on gangs and crime for year 8s to understand why more and more police are carrying guns around at Christmas time.
And year 11 and 10 have had their first parents evening – an important event which allows teachers to share the progress of their students and for parents to understand how to help their child to boost their grades and education. The evening also allows students to celebrate their achievements and share them with their parents.
These were only a couple of events that have been taking place in our school! What a busy term! This is all for now, tune in next month for your monthly blog. Till then, bye!
