Parent Handbook
A Successful Start for our current Year 7!
Our new year 7 students have settled in to life at Our Lady's so well, especially after such a difficult few months. The head of year 7 said, “we’re really impressed with how the year 7s have settled in. Already they are enjoying all the new subjects that high school has to offer and many have volunteered to be transition leaders and chaplains. Keep up the good work year 7!”
Our newly appointed student transition team will be ambassadors for transition in school and they are keen to show prospective students what life at Our Lady's is like and that this is the right school for them! They will be blogging, interviewing staff and students and making videos - keep an eye on our website and social media for more updates!
The transition team members are: Joy, Rim, Scola, Vinny, Sarah, Alex, Gracie, Favour and Soruzondu. You can hear from some of them below, telling us all about their first day at school.
Our Lady's Student Work Pack
All students and parents have received a pack from us containing the following information:
- Letters from Mr Ormsby (Headteacher) welcoming pupils and parents/carers to Our Lady's
- Parent/Pupil information booklet

Starting Secondary School has lots of content hosted on BBC Bitesize, including peer-to-peer advice from the stars of CBBC series Our School who have first-hand experience of making the move to secondary school.
It also has practical tips for you as a parent on how to prepare your child for secondary school, as well as resources to help start discussions around transition, produced in partnership with YoungMinds.
