Year 6 to Year 7 Transition
Boreatton Park (PGL) 8-10th November
Between 8-10th November we have arranged for our Year 7 pupils to attend a three day residential trip to Boreatton Park in Shrewsbury.
The trip plays an important part in the start of your child’s time at Our Lady’s enabling them to form new friendships that will be invaluable to them as they progress through school life. Due to the importance of this trip in pupils’ school lives the cost of the trip is free and includes all meals during the 3 days.
The trip to Boreatton Park will offer your child a chance to try out a range of adventurous activities in a beautiful setting.

Transition Support
Many families have a lot of the same questions and concerns surrounding transition and we are committed to working with you to address any issues. All of the key information you need as parents will be uploaded to this website for easy access. We also have a number of fun interactive resources and links to helpful videos for your children to engage with which will help to prepare them for the big move.
Packed with videos, interactive games, tips and advice, the Starting Secondary School above will help your child during their last term in primary school and through their critical first weeks at secondary school. Of course we are here to support as well – just call the transition team on 0161 507 9640, or email us at transition@olsc.manchester.sch.uk
Starting Secondary School has lots of content hosted on BBC Bitesize, including peer-to-peer advice from the stars of CBBC series Our School who have first-hand experience of making the move to secondary school.
It also has practical tips for you as a parent on how to prepare your child for secondary school, as well as resources to help start discussions around transition, produced in partnership with YoungMinds.
