At Key Stage 3, our students study a variety of texts from the English Literary canon as well building skills such as letter writing, analysing articles and speech writing. At Key Stage 4, students prepare for the AQA English Language and Literature exams. At the end of KS4 students will have gained 2 GCSEs in English.
Staff confidently use technology to assist learning and create engaging and exciting lessons to allow students to get the most out of their learning journey. Students are able to participate in a variety of extra curricular activities including the school newspaper, trips to the theatre, themed escape rooms, university workshops plus much more.
English is a subject that assists students in progressing in the following professions – law, journalism, politics.
