Year 11
Head of Year: Miss B Brophy
Vision for Year 11
As we stand on the threshold of our final year at Our Lady’s, it’s time to envision the journey ahead with clarity, determination, and purpose. Year 11 is a pivotal chapter in our students’ educational journey—one where the foundations they’ve built over the years will support the achievements they will realise in a few short months.
Our vision is to support our students in rising to the challenges of Year 11 with resilience, maturity, and a commitment to excellence. We will not just aim to pass, but to excel beyond their personal targets; not just to participate, but to lead through their prefect roles and beyond. We envision each of our students embracing this crucial year with a growth mindset, knowing that their attitude and efforts today will shape their future opportunities.
This year, we will sharpen our skills, deepen our knowledge, and cultivate habits that will not only prepare our students for the exams but also for the world beyond Our Lady’s. Together, we will support one another, lift each other up in moments of doubt, and celebrate each other’s successes. We will continue with our culture where hard work is the norm, challenges are opportunities, and success is the result of consistent effort and collaboration.
Let this year be one where we push past limits, exceed expectations, and emerge more confident, capable, and ready to face the future.
Let’s make Year 11 a year to remember.
Key priorities:
1. **Academic Excellence and Exam Preparation:**
This includes developing effective revision strategies, managing time effectively, seeking help when needed, and focusing on areas of improvement.
2. **Personal Development and Wellbeing:**
Balancing the demands of Year 11 will be challenging, so it’s essential to prioritise personal wellbeing. This includes managing stress, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and ensuring there is time for relaxation and hobbies.
3. **Planning for the Future:**
Students will be supported in making decisions about future pathways, whether it’s choosing subjects for further study, exploring vocational options, or planning for apprenticeships and careers.
Miss Brophy's' Favourite Quote:
"In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity."
Albert Einstein
A powerful reminder that challenges often bring with them the chance to learn, grow, and find new paths forward. Difficult situations can be the catalyst for some of our greatest achievements, as they push us to think creatively and tap into strengths we didn’t know we had.
