In English you will study a diverse range of texts from an equally diverse range of authors. From year 7 through to 11 you will look at how to analyse fiction and non-fiction texts, as well as creating your own writing pieces. We also look at poetry on themes such as Identity and Love, and you are given the opportunity to create your own. Once a fortnight there is a reading lesson and in that time students look at Latin and Greek root words to help them on their journey to becoming ‘word rich’. We also endeavour to take students on out of school for educational and rewards trips; in recent years these have included themed escape rooms, library visits, and theatre visits.
