Mathematics
The maths team aim to inspire and motivate pupils with our expert subject knowledge and by delivering the curriculum in engaging and diverse ways, including the use of technology. We cultivate a safe learning environment, where pupils feel at ease taking risks and value the opportunity to learn from their mistakes.
Year 7 are supported in their transition to secondary school with numeracy intervention for less confident mathematicians, where they are helped to hone their numerical skills with a teacher in a smaller group.
We extend our higher attaining students with a variety of activities, such as entry into UK Maths Challenge individual and group competitions. Pupils leave Our Lady’s with the mathematical skills to succeed in further education or the workplace.
