Today’s children and young people are growing up in an increasingly complex world and living their lives seamlessly on and offline. This presents many positive and exciting opportunities, but also challenges and risks. In this environment, children and young people need to know how to be safe and healthy, and how to manage their academic, personal and social lives in a positive way.
Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship and Economic Education is a planned programme of learning opportunities and experiences that helps young people grow and develop as individuals and as members of families and of social and economic communities. Students should use and apply their knowledge and understanding while developing skills to research and interrogate evidence, debate and evaluate viewpoints, present reasoned arguments and take informed action
At Our Lady’s RC High School we offer learning opportunities that will enable students to be taught the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to take responsibility for themselves, to show and offer respect to others and develop their confidence and self-awareness. This will enable them to be more informed when making decisions and more able to cope with the challenges life brings.
